Alliance Tire Ltd. has signed a supply contract with Caterpillar caterpillar (kăt`əpĭl'ər, kăt`ər–), common name for the larva of a moth or butterfly. Caterpillars have distinct heads and are segmented and wormlike. , said to be the world's largest manufacturer of heavy engineering equipment. Alliance Tire expects the contract to generate $4 million in revenue through December December: see month.  2007.
