). The devices enable designers to more effectively plan and optimize clock timing and clock tree distribution in networking, embedded, industrial, instrumentation, ATE and consumer PC systems.

Alliance's ASM5P230X and ASM5P23S0X family of products are versatile 3.3V ZDBs designed specifically for managing the distribution of a wide range of clock frequencies. The devices' variable delay provides system designers with complete flexibility in system timing and planning. Additionally, they enable operation and verification by allowing zero delay adjustment (ZDA) for system functionality and performance under various spread spectrum clock (SSC SSC Secondary School Certificate

) and non-SSC schemes.

All devices in the ASM5P230X and ASM5P23S0X family include a phase locked loop (PLL PLL - phase-locked loop ), input and output dividers configured from four to eight outputs and an external feedback path for the Zero Delay Adjustment. They also provide low power, low propagation delay and output skews, and improved waveform integrity (low jitter) for optimum timing margins. Designers can choose from 175 specific configurations of temperature grades, lead-free and in-line package options in both 8-pin and 16-pin, including SOIC (Small Outline IC) A small-dimension, plastic, rectangular, surface mount chip package that uses gull-wing pins extending outward. "Our unique portfolio mix provides designers with versatile and flexible solutions to meet today's design challenges for clock signal re-synchronization and fan-out for synchronous memory support across a wide range of applications," said Mark Sherwood, director of marketing for Alliance's Analog and Mixed Signal Business Unit. "By providing designers with a choice between narrow or wide band devices to either suppress or track SSC signals, Alliance is reducing the overall time it takes to plan systems and calculate complex timing. This Alliance ZDB family portfolio provides the most flexible and feature rich mix in the industry today. By offering more configurations in two package options (SOIC & TSSOP), two temperature grades (Commercial & Industrial), lead free or tin lead (for legacy and new manufacture), we are providing a more comprehensive mix - more standard than the standard...."

The ASM5P2304 and ASM3P2305 are 8-pin solutions where a 1:4 or 1:5 input to output ratio is desired within a single output bank, supporting 1/2x REF, 1x REF and 2x REF outputs. The ASM5P2308 and ASM5P2309 devices are 16-pin solutions where a 1:8 and/or a 1:9 ratio is desired with two output banks of four outputs, each supporting 1/2x REF, 1x REF, 2x REF, and 4x REF outputs.

In addition, the ASM5P23S0X family provides for wide band equivalents of these same designs with the ASM5P23S04, ASM5P23S05, ASM5P23S08 and ASM5P23S09 being pin-for-pin equivalents. The wider bandwidth allows the designer to accommodate the need for SSCG SSCG Spread Spectrum Clock Generation

The ASM5P230X and ASM5P23S0X family is available in both standard and high drive output models for supporting multiple 50ohm transmission lines. All of the devices are available in both commercial and industrial temperature grades and support output frequency ranges from 4MHz up to 133MHz. The ASM5P230X and ASM5P23S0X configurations include single and multiple bank LVCMOS LVCMOS Low Voltage Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor
