This amount is calculated by subtracting the following items from gross sales: merchandise returned for credit, allowances for damaged or missing goods, freight
 and earnings for the second fiscal quarter, ending September 30, 2000 are currently expected to be higher than prior expectations.

Alliance currently expects to report record second quarter sales of $60 million to $62 million. This would represent a sequential increase of approximately 26% - 31% from the fiscal first quarter sales of $47.4 million, and a 214% - 225% increase from the year-ago fiscal second quarter sales of $19.1 million. Revenues for the first half of fiscal year 2001 are now expected to be approximately $107 million to $109 million, an increase of 191-196%.

Alliance also currently expects to report fully-diluted earnings per share of $0.19 to $0.21 for the fiscal second quarter based on the results of operations, and excluding gains from sales of marketable securities Marketable Securities

These markets remain strong. Sales for the year may now be expected to exceed $200 million, which would be more than double our sales in fiscal 2000."

Alliance expects to report its fiscal second quarter earnings on October 17, 2000 at the close of market.
