Alliance Imaging Completes Acquisition of Medical Consultants Imaging Co.


ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 24, 1997--Alliance Imaging Inc. (Nasdaq: SCAN), the nation's largest provider of hospital-based fixed-site and mobile magnetic resonance imaging magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), noninvasive diagnostic technique that uses nuclear magnetic resonance to produce cross-sectional images of organs and other internal body structures.  (MRI 1. ), a Cleveland-based provider of mobile MRI services, CT services and other outsourced health care services.

The acquisition also included MCIC's one-half interest in an operating joint venture in Michigan. The acquisition will add 14 mobile MRI scanners and several other diagnostic imaging systems operating primarily in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. The terms of the all-cash transaction were not disclosed.
