Alliance Expands CF International Capabilities; Consolidated Freightways Adds Swiss Transport Company to International Service Network.

Consolidated Freightways (Nasdaq:CFWY)(CF) has formed an alliance with Swiss-based Fracht AG that increases CF's transportation and logistics coverage of the European continent.

Headquartered in Basel, Fracht AG is a forwarder specializing in air, ocean and ground transportation and logistics services. The company serves Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Sweden via an established network of facilities.

"Fracht AG is one of the largest forwarding/transport companies in Switzerland," says Steve Soukup, general manager of CF's European Division. "Our alliance with Fracht opens more options for international shippers doing business in important export markets on the European continent."

In addition to Basel, Fracht has offices in a number of locations throughout Switzerland, including Zurich, Lugano and Geneva. Fracht Germany is based in Nuremberg, with offices in Dusseldorf, Munich, Stuttgart and Mannheim. In Austria, Fracht has both an ocean and air office in Vienna, while the seaport city of Gothenburg serves as the company's base in Sweden. A Fracht airport facility at Stockholm's Arlanda Airport will be added in the coming months.

Through its CF International service, Consolidated Freightways simplifies time-definite deliveries between North America and strategic export markets. CF International gives shippers seamless access to expedited LTL, air, ground transportation and ocean options, both inbound and outbound. CF is also certified as an International Air Transport Association (IATA) agent.
