It is the first film Egoyan is adapting from source material that is not his own. The story revolves around a lawyer (Holm) who represents the members of a small community after a tragic school bus accident. Things begin to spiral out of control when he uncovers secrets that surface and threaten to destroy his case. The ensemble cast includes Arsinee Khanjian (Exotica), Sarah Polley (Road To Avonlea Road to Avonlea is a television series which was first broadcast in Canada and the United States between 1990 and 1996. It was produced by Sullivan Films (later Sullivan Entertainment) in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the Disney Channel, with ), Bruce Greenwood (Exotica), Gabrielle Rose (The Adjuster), Tom McCamus (I Love a Man in Uniform) and Maury Chaykin (Unstrung Heroes).
