Alley Cat News. (News in Brief).

Alley Cat Information Sciences (New York) has suspended publication of Alley Cat News, the five-year-old title that covered the high-tech and new media industries in New York City. Launched as a newsletter, the publication was "another victim of a difficult climate for ad dollars made worse in the aftermath of Sept. 11," the company said. Last July, frequency was cut from monthly to bi-monthly. The demise of the title follows last October's close of Silicon Alley Reporter, a magazine also launched in 1997. At the time of closing, SAR publisher/owner Jason Calacanis said he would relaunch the title as Venture Reporter by the end of the year, but production has yet to begin.
