The meaning of many surgical procedure names can often be understood if the name is broken into parts. For example in splenectomy, "ectomy" is a suffix meaning the removal of a part of the body. "Splene-" means spleen. coupled with the initiation of a limited, voluntary recall of certain AMO AMO - America's Multimedia Online intraocular lenses will have an impact on first quarter 1996 operating results. However total company sales are still expected to be in double digit growth. William C. No adverse events have been reported.
