Allergan and Staar Surgical settle lawsuit.IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 1996--Allergan Inc. (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :AGN) on Thursday announced that Allergan and Microtech have reached a settlement with Staar Surgical Company (NASDAQ NASDAQ in full National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations U.S. market for over-the-counter securities. Established in 1971 by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), NASDAQ is an automated quotation system that reports on :STAA STAA Surface Transportation Assistance Act of 1982 STAA Short Term Assignment Allowance ) in a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Allergan Medical Optics (AMO) and Microtech Inc. against Staar and a separate state court action license dispute filed by AMO and Allergan against Staar. Staar signed a Final Consent Judgment and received a license to the Bartell patent on terms that were not disclosed. The state court action was also settled on terms that were not disclosed.
