Allen & O'Hara Chosen to Develop, Manage Student Housing at Three Pennsylvania Universities.Business Editors MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2003 Allen & O'Hara, Inc. announced today that it has been chosen to develop and manage new student housing facilities at three universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Not to be confused with Pennsylvania's Commonwealth System of Higher Education. The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) is the largest provider of higher education in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the 11th largest public university system in the United . The universities are California University of Pennsylvania The main campus consists of 38 buildings situated on 90 acres (364,000 m²). An additional 98 acre (397,000 m²) recreation complex, George H. Roadman University Park, is located one mile from campus and includes a football stadium, various sports facilities, and picnic facilities. , Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, commonly abbreviated LHU, is a state university in Lock Haven, in central Pennsylvania located along the Susquehanna River, and is roughly thirty miles from the major towns of Williamsport and State College. , and Clarion University of Pennsylvania Clarion University of Pennsylvania is a liberal arts university in Clarion, Pennsylvania, and one of fourteen universities of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). . Allen & O'Hara is the co-developer on these projects with National Development of Pittsburgh. Construction has begun on a 700-bed on-campus housing complex at California University of Pennsylvania. The new housing will replace 1,000 beds in existing, older dormitories at the university which are to be demolished. The new, fully furnished housing will include both residence hall suites and apartments with private bedrooms. All of the new housing will offer the latest technology with each student room wired directly into the campus computer network. Housing will be built for both freshmen and upper class students and will include a special Honors Residence Facility. At Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, designs are being drawn for the 400 beds of new, on-campus housing for upper classmen that Allen & O'Hara is developing and financing. Construction will begin this summer. Allen & O'Hara will manage the facility when it opens in the fall of 2004. Designs are also being drawn for the 650 beds of new, on-campus upper classmen housing that Allen & O'Hara is developing and financing at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. The design will be unique in that it offers six separate "villages" to house different university special interest groups. In addition, an 8,000 square foot community building is planned that will provide classrooms, study areas, and a variety of recreation amenities. Construction, to start this summer, will be completed in the fall of 2004. Allen & O'Hara will manage the facility upon opening. Paul O.
