SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 1995--Allegiant Technologies, Inc. announced today that it will ship a Developer's Release version of SuperCard Runtime for Windows in January 1996. Though not including all the functionality of SuperCard 2.5 on the Macintosh, the Developer's Release will include key functionality to enable developers to convert and deliver their Macintosh SuperCard projects on Microsoft Windows See Windows.

Among the key features of the SuperCard Runtime for Windows Developer Release are:

Project Conversion

SuperCard Runtime for Windows Developer Release will deliver complete SuperCard Macintosh project conversion, including windows, cards, buttons, fields, graphics, menus and menu items. The release will also feature tools that aid the conversion process, including project analysis tools, Apple's "MoviePlayer" for saving movies to play on both Macintosh and Windows, and Equilibrium's "Debabelizer Lite LE" for saving graphic files in cross-platform formats.

Multimedia Capabilities

Designed to contain nearly all SuperCard's significant multimedia capabilities. Developer Release will support cross-platform graphics display, cross-platform sound playback and the ability to play QuickTime movies. These features make it a capable Windows authoring environment for producing multimedia applications for CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.

The product will also include a publisher's license that will allow developers to distribute the Player so they can deliver their work to Windows users.

"While the Developer Release is not a 100% port of SuperCard Software Technology to Windows, it does represent a significant portion of SuperCard's capabilities. This early release is intended to give SuperCard and HyperCard developers a head start on converting their work to run on Windows -- we've had extremely positive reactions from the Developer community to our strategy of shipping this early Release," said Sean Baird, SuperCard Product Manager.

SuperCard Runtime for Windows Developer Release will be available directly from Allegiant at the special introductory price of $199 for owners of SuperCard for the Macintosh.
