Allegheny Technologies Names President of Allegheny Ludlum.

Allegheny Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:ATI) announced today that Terry L. Dunlap, 43, has been named president of Allegheny Ludlum, the largest operating company within Allegheny Technologies, which accounts for the majority of Flat-Rolled Products segment sales. The appointment is effective on November 1, 2002.

"Terry brings to his new position a broad base of knowledge and experience with customers, suppliers, employees and operations developed during his 19-year career with Allegheny Ludlum and its parent Allegheny Technologies," said Jim Murdy, president and chief executive officer of Allegheny Technologies.

Kittenbrink, to whom Dunlap will report, has also been serving as president of Allegheny Ludlum.

Dunlap is currently vice president of procurement and chief information officer of Allegheny Technologies. He has experience in domestic and international sales, marketing, manufacturing, production control, logistics, information technology, procurement and general management. As noted in the Company's Proxy Statement for 2002, Terry Dunlap is a member of the immediate family of Bob Bozzone, chairman of Allegheny Technologies.

Dunlap holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a member of the University's Business School Advisory Council and a past Board Member of the school's Foundation Board. He is also active in civic organizations in the Pittsburgh area.
