, today announced it would consolidate and move nearly 300 core business employees to a state-of-the-art facility in the Pittsburgh suburb suburb, a community in an outlying section of a city or, more commonly, a nearby, politically separate municipality with social and economic ties to the central city. In the 20th cent.  of Monroeville, Pa.

The move exemplifies the growth and transition of the Company as it moves from a regional entity to a national energy supplier.

"This is an exciting time for our Company," said Peter J. Skrgic, President, Allegheny Energy Supply. "In addition to announcing generating projects that will increase our total generating capacity to more than 12,000 megawatts (MW) - plus the many other projects under consideration -- we have found a first-class location for our corporate center which embodies the growth and expansion of our business."

Administrative offices of both the Projects Division and the Production & Sales Division of Allegheny Energy Supply, along with key support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services , will be combined in the new office space in the Westinghouse Energy Center in Monroeville. Currently, the two divisions are housed in separate locations in Greensburg. Allegheny Energy Supply plans to move into the new facility in March 2001.

In addition to being a state-of-the-art facility, the Energy Center gives Allegheny Energy Supply greater access to a major city and its large and diversified diversified (di·verˑ·s  work force for additional employees to support the Company's expected growth.
