Allegheny Energy Stockholders Vote To Remove Preemptive Rights Provision From Charter.

: AYE) announced today that more than 50 percent of the shares of common stock entitled to vote were voted to approve a proposal to amend the Company's charter to eliminate a preemptive rights The privilege of a stockholder to maintain a proportionate share of the ownership of a corporation by purchasing a proportionate share of any new stock issues.

In most jurisdictions, an existing stockholder has the right to buy additional shares of a new issue to preserve
 provision during a special meeting of Allegheny Energy stockholders in New York New York, state, United States
