Allaire Announces License Agreement with O'Reilly and Associates; O'Reilly will bundle Cold Fusion Standard with WebSite Professional; The agreement is part of Allaire's strategic product offering for Intranets and the Internet.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 1996--Allaire Corp. announced today plans to bundle Cold Fusion Standard, a simplified version of their Web application development platform, with WebSite Professional from O'Reilly and Associates.

Cold Fusion Standard is a simplified version of Cold Fusion Professional 1.5. Cold Fusion Standard includes all the basic features a Web developer needs to integrate ODBC-compliant relational databases with their Web server to handle data entry, searching, and dynamic page creation. It provides a straightforward way for both database users and Web developers to publish databases and create Web sites which use a database back-end. Cold Fusion Standard does not include the application development features such as conditional processing of database query results which are part of the retail version of Cold Fusion Professional.

With Cold Fusion, the Web is no longer confined to static document publishing. Web developers can use Cold Fusion to easily create Web sites that include searchable databases and pages built dynamically with information from databases. Cold Fusion Professional gives Web developers a range of additional features which enable the development of a new generation of client/server Web applications on Intranets and the Internet. With Cold Fusion Professional, developers can set persistent cookies, integrate SMTP messaging, and embed conditional logic in their Web pages, among other features.
