This month we remember the birth (November 8) and death (the 29th) of a woman already a saint in many Catholics' eyes. Dorothy Day Dorothy Day (November 8, 1897 – November 29, 1980) was an American journalist turned social activist and devout member of the Catholic Church. She became known for her social justice campaigns in defense of the poor, forsaken, hungry and homeless. , cofounder co·found

 of the Catholic Worker movement The Catholic Worker Movement is a Catholic organisation founded by Servant of God Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin in 1933. Its aim is to "live in accordance with the justice and charity of Jesus Christ. , embodied the call to love our neighbor.

In her autobiography she wrote: "We cannot love God unless we love each other. We know Him in the breaking of the bread, and we know each other in the breaking of the bread, and we are not alone anymore.
