GARY Rowett Gary Rowett (born 6 March 1974 in Bromsgrove) was an English professional football player. He currently coaches the youth team for Burton Albion.

He started his career at Cambridge United, a product of their youth system before earning a move to the Premiership with Everton
has learned to expect the unexpected at Blues this season.

The club's injury crisis is worse than anything the City defender has ever experienced.

"It's got to the stage where if I went into training and was told someone had fallen down the stairs Adv. 1. down the stairs - on a floor below; "the tenants live downstairs"

and broken his neck, we wouldn't be surprised," he said.

"Touch wood, I hope it never happens to anyone. But the injuries have been unbelievable."

Which is why Rowett was celebrating a rare change in fortune for Blues last week at Watford.

Rowett's goal gave them victory against the odds at Vicarage Road Vicarage Road, a stadium in Watford, Hertfordshire, England, is the home of the football club Watford and their tenants, the Saracens rugby union club. A four stand all-seater stadium, its capacity is 19,920.  and set up a likely fourth round with one of his former clubs Everton.

Blues followed that up by losing at Wolves on Friday when makeshift striker Darren Purse Darren John Purse (born 14 February, 1977 in Stepney, London) is a professional football player currently playing for Cardiff City. Club Career

He played as a centre half for Watford, Sheffield United, Birmingham City, Walsall, Bolton Wanderers, Scarborough and Gretna, and was capped once for England at  has been ruled out for the same reason.

But Rowett admitted it is a case of trying to forget about the injury situation at the moment and make the best of it.

"People accuse us of moaning all the time, but it's not like that," he said.

"I really can't remember anything like it. It seems as if there's always something every week.

"Most clubs would consider it bad luck if one player broke his leg in a season - we've had three of them!

"Normally, you wouldn't expect injuries, but we have learned to expect something new all the time. At the moment we're welcoming anyone selling lucky charms

Rowett is hoping that Exeter do not pull off another shock at Goodison Park Goodison Park is the home ground of Everton F.C. in Liverpool. It has a total capacity of 40,569 all-seated. History

after holding Everton do a goalless draw in the first match.

"I expect Everton will win and that's good for me because it's one of my old clubs," said Rowett.

"When the draw was made we all wanted Villa but at least it looks as though we're going to get a big team now.

"In competitions like this you always want to pit yourself against the best around so this is a great game for us."

Rowett was only a youngster when he was at Everton, and saw his Goodison career cut short by a change of manager.

"I joined when Mike Walker was in charge and was just breaking into the team when he was sacked," he said.

"I came in for pre-season training and was told that Derby were interested so that was that. I have no hard feelings towards Everton at all, but it would be nice to go there and win of course.

"It was great for us to win at Watford, particularly with all the problems we've had.

"Even though they were only promoted last season, they're still a Premiership side and we had to draw on everything to beat them. Plus it was great to gain some revenge over them for last season's play-off defeat - although they did have the last laugh in the end I suppose."

Rowett hopes a cup run can be reflected in Blues' league form. Their injury worries will be tested to the full over a busy Christmas period: "That won't be easy," he said.

"But we know if we can come through it then we can give our fans some Christmas cheer.

"At the moment, with no fit strikers, there is always the worry that we won't score any goals."
