NYTimes.com will also enhance its existing real estate section by adding multimedia to new coverage and columns, improving search functionality and offering innovative community comparison tools and reader forums.

The section will regularly include:

A column on the process of hunting for co-ops, condos, houses, mortgages and all of the other aspects of real estate, from the initial search to the closing.

A weekly news column with an inside look at the real estate world in the city--who's buying what where, and who's doing what to whom.

An updated version of the popular "If You're Thinking of Living In ..." column with new graphics and a variety of listings that thoroughly define the neighborhood.

A page of properties currently on the market in both the city and the suburbs, with the statistics on size and prices as well as information on advantages and disadvantages.

"Residential Sales"--an easy to read chart, arranged both by price and by community, of recent sales around the New York area.

A column on commercial real estate that looks at changes throughout the city in both office buildings and retail spaces.

A new bi-weekly column on issues of interest to renters.

A new bi-weekly column that addresses the pros and cons pros and cons
