All segments of society must be taken aboard to come out of crisis: Nawaz.

Terrorism, extremism cannot be linked to Islam LAHORE, June 19, 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- Pakistan Muslim League-N Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has urged that the whole nation including media, civil society, technocrats, Islamic scholars and other fraternities must be taken on board to bring the country out of crisis. Elucidating root causes of the increased crime rate, militancy and extremism in the society , while addressing party workers at Raiwind, Lahore and talking to different delegations who called on him on Friday The government needs to develop national consensus on the overwhelming crisis. The whole nation including media, civil society, technocrats, Islamic scholars and other fraternities must be taken on board to bring the country out of crisis. \ Nawaz Sharif said that extremism and militancy were by-products of dictatorship and continuation of dictatorial regimes after every few years. An important aspect of increase in crime rates is lack of good governance and non-existence of accountability. People lose their trust in the government and its institutions those who commit crimes against the nation and the country itself, are neglected; even we do not punish those who abrogate constitution of the country. Hence, the militancy cannot be exterminated and the trend to commit crimes cannot be changed until and unless the influential people are not brought into the court of justice. He said that , We need to outlaws under the law immaterial of their position or affiliation or influence. The whole nation is suffering only due to the dictators who abrogated and violated the constitution and they never bothered to abide by the state laws but they were never questioned for their misdeeds, adding that The wrong and brutal policies of Pervez Musharaf have already played havoc with the people of the country, especially in NWFP and the Balochistan province. PMLN Quaid once again vowed to keep on its efforts until the genuine democracy was not restored in letters and spirit and the people were not given with the equal opportunities to learn, earn and grow. He said, PMLN believes in the sovereignty of the parliaments and wishes all decisions be made by the elected representatives of the nation. PMLN is striving to remove the complexities from our judicial system enabling people have easy and hassle free access to the justice. The epicentre of our struggle is to uphold the supremacy of constitution, ensure rule of law where everyone is equal in the eyes of law, social justice is available to all without any discrimination and equitable distribution of wealth between the people and even the provinces is granted. Talking about the Internally Displaced people of SAWAT and Malakand, Nawaz Sharif declared them as our first and foremost priority at the moment and the nation shall never leave them in the lurch during the bitter situation which they are facing due to scarifying for the supremacy of constitution and rule of law. He reiterated that PMLN and the government of Punjab would envisage full support to IDPs until the last individual is back to his home in a safer manner and peaceful environment. He once again appealed to the whole Nation to extend generous support to those who were suffering merely to secure the future of whole Pakistani nation. PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif has said terrorism and extremisms can not be linked to Islam adding there is need to place focus on the root causes of terrorism. Mian Nawaz Sharif said this during his separate meeting with former president Rafiq Tarar and renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel here Friday at his residence in Raiwind. Sources told former president exchanged views with Mian Nawaz Sharif on party matters and prevailing political situation in the country. The issue of dispensation of speedy justice in subordinate courts also came under discussion. Mian Nawaz Sharif told the former president PML-N had forwarded proposals to superior judiciary with respect to provision of inexpensive and speedy justice. PML-N Quaid observed terrorism was a potential challenge for Pakistan in the prevailing situation. We will have to work together beyond party political considerations to face this challenge. Every one has to play ones role in this regard, he urged. About surge in terror related incidents in Punjab, Mian Nawaz Sharif said chief minister Punjab and his team was working hard for improvement in law and order situation in the province. During his meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif Amir Tableegh-e-Jamaat and renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil said Islam was religion of peace and security. The best way to transmit the message of Islam to people was to attract them to Islam with the force of arguments and moral acts, he stressed. Citing to shahadat of noted religious scholar Maulana Sarfraz Naeemi, PML-N Quaid told Maulana Tariq Jameel this could be a conspiracy to fan sectarianism in the country. However Ulema should get ready to counter these conspiracies, he added.
