The 2,850-guest, 122,000tonne Celebrity Equinox equinox (ē`kwĭnŏks), either of two points on the celestial sphere where the ecliptic and the celestial equator intersect. The real grass lawn on board is larger than eight tennis courts and can be used for boules, bocca, putting and outdoor concerts. The German-built ship also has a casino, ten restaurants and pools. Celebrity Equinox is also one of the first cruise ships to use renewable energy resources, and the power being generated by 61 onboard solar panels is enough to operate all the onboard lifts. The first sailing with paying guests on board is sold out, and departs from Southampton on July 31 for an eight-night Norwegian Fjords cruise, costing pounds 999 per person, based on two sharing a balcony cabin.
