All Ways On Wireless Inaugurates Million Square Foot Wireless Internet Hotspot for the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

All Ways On Wireless Inc. (AWOW), developer of high-capacity, wide area wireless Internet services for large-scale venues, today announced it has completed deploying service at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, providing hotspot coverage for 100 percent of the building's 1.1 million square feet of publicly accessible space.

Owned by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), the building is the largest in the nation's capital. Coverage of its conference and meeting center by AWOW's wireless technology extends beyond its indoor facilities to include the Aria Restaurant, the Woodrow Wilson Plaza and Daniel Patrick Moynihan Place. This outdoor area consists of a four-acre public courtyard which opens to Pennsylvania Avenue and hosts various entertainment events. The wireless service operates over proprietary radio access points with 10 times the range of other wireless antenna systems, reducing the cost and substantially expanding available coverage.

Douglas Raymond, founder and CEO of All Ways On Wireless, noted that the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center serves as the daily workplace address for more than 7,000 people. It is visited by another 800,000 individuals annually while attending events such as trade shows, conventions or business meetings, and other activities held in the government and private offices located on site.

"In today's environment, people have come to expect that a world class facility like this one will be 'WiFi-enabled' for easy wireless access to the Internet," Raymond said. "Given the size of the complex and the number of potential users, the General Services Administration wanted to ensure coverage in every public corner of the building, so whether people are on site for a day or for weeks at a time, they have straightforward, reliable access to email, search engines and all the other Web-based resources we've come to rely on."

AWOW's wireless service conforms to industry-standards (802.11b and 802.11g), so anyone with a WiFi-enabled device can log on and purchase connections on a daily or hourly basis. The system provides the most up-to-date security protocols, and supports VPN networking as well as SMTP e-mail protocols.

"All Ways On Wireless was selected for the quality and breadth of their connectivity and their flexible package of services which work for visitors and conference center users alike," said John E. McCormick, Vice President of Operations and Real Estate for Trade Center Management Associates (TCMA), who is the GSA facility's Trade Center Manager. "The installation process was flawless and finished ahead of schedule. The wireless service has met or exceeded all performance specifications."

AWOW served as principal contractor for the planning and installation phases, working with the GSA and its Trade Center Manager, All Ways On Wireless will manage and maintain the WiFi system. A significant portion of the network's gross revenues are shared between AWOW and the GSA's ITC, providing a mutual incentive to maximize the system's success.

"In addition to our emphasis on users of the public areas of the Reagan Building, the new WiFi system may be useful for Federal employees who want to retrieve personal email during their breaks, or contractors who are restricted from using the government's network," Raymond added.

AWOW will continue to expand conveniences through the network, such as free-standing computer kiosks in public areas to provide Internet access for people on-site without a personal computer or other wireless device.

Currently, AWOW's WiFi service is offered at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center for $6.00 per hour or $12.95 per day.
