All Star Salute Kicks-Off Super Bowl Week in San Diego by Raising $475,000 for the National MS Society; Nine Legends in San Diego's Sports History Honored.

Coronado is across the bay.  Super Bowl XXXVII Super Bowl XXXVII was the 37th championship game of the modern National Football League (NFL). The game was played on January 26, 2003 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California following the 2002 regular season.  Host Committee and National Multiple Sclerosis Society The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, a United States-based non-profit organization, and its network of chapters nationwide promote research, educate, advocate on issues relating to multiple sclerosis, and organize a wide range of programs, including support for the newly , San Diego Area Chapter, today announced that the All Star Salute to San Diego last Saturday night raised close to $475,000 for the local chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The gala was held at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina. The money raised will enable the San Diego Chapter to add a fourth SDG&E aqua therapy program for people with MS, and provide additional transportation for people with MS.

Funds were raised through sponsorships, ticket sales and a live auction that featured Super Bowl XXXVII tickets, trips with airfare and an autographed Lego mosaic of Jay Leno made by LEGOLAND California Master Builders out of 5,500 LEGO bricks.

The San Diego Area Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's mission is to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis; it offers programs and services designed to educate and improve the quality of life for those affected by MS. The Chapter serves people with MS, their families and healthcare professionals in San Diego and Imperial counties.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is the only national voluntary MS organization that meets the standards of all major agencies that rate the fiscal responsibility of non-profit groups.
