Capital One Financial Corporation (NYSE:COF) remains on the lists of several All Star Analysts. In April, the company reported that first-quarter earnings reached $1.99 per share, topping the consensus by more than 5% and year-earlier results of $1.84. One of the highlights included managed loans reaching $81.6 billion, marking advances of 9% and 14% on a sequential and year-over-year basis, respectively. Capital One expects managed loans to grow between 12% and 15% during 2005. New Century Financial Corporation (NYSE:NEW) is a specialty finance company that, through its subsidiaries, originates, purchases, sells, and services sub-prime mortgage loans secured primarily by first mortgages on single-family residences. New Century announced earlier this month that loan production volume for May advanced 7% from last year to $4.4 billion. Furthermore, year-to-date loan production growth has been 22% compared to 2004. New Century Chairman and CEO Robert K. Cole said that the company remains on track to achieve its 2005 production target of $45 billion or more.

Remington Oil and Gas Corporation (NYSE:REM) is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company that continues to be recommended by a number of All Star analysts. Remington's first quarter earnings per share of 56 cents barely fell short of the consensus by a penny, but was 44% better than the year-ago result. Meanwhile, total revenues advanced to $59.8 million, thanks to a 6% production volume increase and a 21% increase in average equivalent prices received compared to the 2004 first quarter. Production volumes of 8.6 Bcfe was down sequentially due to weather conditions, but was up 6% year-over-year. Remington said the sequential and seasonal decrease in production volumes is typical for its Gulf of Mexico Noun 1.
