Since July 2002, this portfolio has generated an annualized return of 12.92%, exceeding the S&P 500 by a margin of more than 50%. Here is a synopsis of why these stocks are in the All Star Analysts Portfolio:

Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS), earlier this month, reported fiscal second quarter non-GAAP earnings per share of 15 cents on net revenue of $675 million; both of which fell short of year-ago totals. However, the earnings result soared past the consensus by about 275% while revenue also topped expectations. The release of Xbox 360 was big news in video games, and Electronic Arts was prepared. The company recently shipped its biggest launch line up of EA SPORTS(TM) titles to stores, including four games for the new platform. FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup(TM), Madden NFL 06, NBA LIVE 06 and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR(R) 06 are all available for the new game system.

EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC) remains a pick with several All Star analysts. In October, EMC reported third quarter earnings per share of 13 cents, excluding a tax-related benefit, which improved year-over-year and eclipsed the consensus by more than 8%. Total consolidated revenue reached $2.37 billion, up 17% from $2.03 billion in the third quarter of 2004. EMC stated that each of its major business segments and geographies continued to grow by double-digits in the quarter, and the company said it's in the midst of the most robust wave of new product introductions in its history. Shortly after the report, EMC announced an agreement to acquire Captiva Software. According to the company, the acquisition will enable EMC to deliver further integrated solutions for input management and image processing applications, and will also serve as an increasingly important element of EMC's enterprise archiving strategy.

Genzyme Corporation (NASDAQ:GENZ) is one of the world's leading biotechnology companies. For its third quarter, Genzyme posted non-GAAP earnings of 61 cents per share on revenue of $708.1 million. The earnings result advanced year-over-year from 49 cents and bettered the consensus by approximately 7%. Revenue improved 24% from $569.2 million, thanks to increases in all product areas. Genzyme, which recently acquired Cell Genesys' manufacturing operation in San Diego to support the growth in its gene therapy programs, stated that it is building a platform for future growth by investing in its broad research and development pipeline, expanding its global infrastructure, and acquiring new products. Genzyme is one of the All Stars' favorite names in biotechnology.

Wachovia Corporation (NYSE:WB) announced yesterday an agreement to sell its Corporate Trust, Institutional Custody, Document Custody, and Structured Finance Trust Service units to U.S. Bank, N.A., the lead band of U.S. Bancorp. David Carroll, President of Wachovia's Capital Management Group (CMG), stated that it wanted to focus its resources on the three core businesses: retail brokerage, asset management and retirement. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2005. Wachovia remains a favorite with several of the All Star Analysts. In October, the company posted third-quarter earnings per share of $1.09, excluding items, which improved from $1 a year-earlier. The result also edged past the consensus. Revenue advanced by 19% in the quarter.
