Anteon Int'l reported a solid third quarter performance late last month, including earnings per share of 55 cents that topped the consensus by almost 8%. Furthermore, revenues advanced 17.3% to $382.1 million from $325.6 million year-over-year. But the All Star analysts were especially impressed with the company's guidance. Thanks to a strong trend line, and confidence in the fourth quarter performance, Anteon Int'l raised its guidance for 2005 and now expects earnings per share to meet or exceed $2.10 on revenue between $1.486 billion and $1.501 billion.

EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC) reported third quarter earnings per share of 13 cents, excluding a tax-related benefit, on total consolidated revenue of $2.37 billion. The earnings result improved year-over-year and eclipsed the consensus by more than 8%. Meanwhile, revenue advanced 17% from $2.03 billion in the third quarter of 2004. The company stated that the quarter's growth was driven by its expanding services business, market-leading mid-tier storage systems, software for enterprise content management and backup, recovery and archive, and VMware's virtual infrastructure software. EMC stated that few companies in its industry have been able to match the record of consistency and execution that EMC has achieved so far this year. Several All Star analysts agree and continue to recommend this company.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) remains one of the All Stars' favorite companies in the hotels industry. Starwood called its third quarter performance 'outstanding.' Excluding items, the company posted earnings per share from continuing operations continuing operations
