All Points Logistics, Inc. Obtains First Ever DITSCAP Certification for Secure Wireless Network for U.S. Army.

GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- All Points Secure and Compliant Integrated Wireless Solution Certified Through the DoD Information Technology Security Certification & Accreditation Process (DITSCAP DITSCAP DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DoD Instruction 5200.40)

All Points Logistics today announced that the integrated wireless network the company engineered with the U.S. Army is the only wireless solution to successfully pass the rigors of the DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) and receive Authority to Operate (ATO). As a result of DITSCAP certification and ATO, any Army post can securely connect remote users and difficult-to-connect locations to the Army's IT backbone.

"As the only complete and compliant WIFI solution with DITSCAP approval, All Points is honored to have played a key role in its development and looks forward to the opportunity to support future Army secure wireless requirements. Receiving DITSCAP means that any Army installation can implement this secure wireless architecture to enhance communications, increase flexibility, and improve operations," said Sam McGee, president of All Points Logistics, Inc.

DITSCAP establishes the standard DoD process for certifying and accrediting information systems. DITSCAP applies to the acquisition, operation and sustainment of any DoD system that collects, stores, transmits, or processes unclassified or classified information.

All Points developed the wireless network solution in collaboration with the U.S. Army's Information Systems Engineering Command (ISEC ISEC International Society for Ecology and Culture
ISEC Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Coimbra (Portugal)
ISEC US Army Information Systems Engineering Command
ISEC International Society for Endangered Cats

) and the Technology Management Division (TMD) of Program Manager, Defense Communications and Army Switched Systems (PM DCASS DCASS Defense Communications and Army Switched Systems ). Together the organizations created a detailed DITSCAP strategy which included: risk assessments, an information assurance (IA) implementation plan, testing and validation policies and procedures Policies and Procedures are a set of documents that describe an organization's policies for operation and the procedures necessary to fulfill the policies. They are often initiated because of some external requirement, such as environmental compliance or other governmental , and a documentation template for completing DITSCAP at any Army installation.

It is one of three agencies that fall under the Technology Administration (www.technology. ) policies call for several layers of security to ensure a wireless network is protected from attacks and security breaches. In order to comply with each security requirement, All Points carefully vetted all potential vendors and technologies against these policies. The resulting multi-faceted solution includes best-of-class wireless security from AirDefense for intrusion detection and prevention; Fortress Technologies for Layer 2 / AES encryption; Pointsec Mobile Technologies for two factor authentication and AES 256 data at rest encryption; Senforce for policy-based, managed endpoint security; and Foundry Networks wireless access points and management tools to leverage the existing infrastructure at Ft. Monmouth, NJ, the location of the first wireless system deployment.

"The DITSCAP roadmap created for the wireless network can be leveraged by any Army Directorate of Information Management (DOIM DOIM Directorate Of Information Management

), Regional Chief Information Officer (RCIO RCIO Regional Chief Information Officer ), or Information Assurance professional," said Sara Lopez, vice president strategic systems of All Points Logistics, Inc. "Because this wireless solution was engineered to comply with DoD, Army and NIST security regulations, other Federal entities can easily adopt the architecture in a cost effective manner."

In order to become certified, the complete wireless system underwent security analyses in the key areas of physical, personnel, administrative, information, information systems, and communications. As part of the DITSCAP, the integrated wireless network received "type" accreditation to permit certain types of modifications to be made to the solution in order to meet the unique and site specific requirements of each Army installation.
