Revenue Management, the world's leader in revenue management science The study of statistical methods, such as linear programming and simulation, in order to analyze and solve organizational problems. Same as operations research. and software, and the pioneer and dominant provider of revenue management to the airline industry, today announced that All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA) has licensed several of PROS' products to enhance its revenue management initiative.

ANA, the largest airline in Asia and one of the top ten airlines in the world, will license PROS 5, PROS Group and PROS NAS systems. Also, in cooperation, PROS will develop a state-of-the-art revenue management solution to handle Japanese allotments. This solution is an innovative tool that will enable better control over the distribution of seats to Japanese wholesalers. With this new partnership, ANA has become PROS' twelfth Star Alliance client.

"We are honored to be in a revenue management partnership with ANA," says Benson Yuen, president of PROS' airline group. "The revenue management solution PROS is providing to ANA will generate incremental revenue and will increase passenger satisfaction."

Katsuhiko Kitabayashi, senior vice president, Marketing of All Nippon Airways, states, "PROS' revenue management systems are very sophisticated products based on the long years of feedback, not only from Star Alliance carriers, but also many other airlines all over the world. I expect that ANA will earn more revenue by dynamic business process renovation using the PROS systems that will be implemented in spring 2002."

The PROS products ANA is licensing are:

PROS 5 Revenue Management System, a state-of-the-art system enabling airlines to statistically forecast demand and set optimal inventory levels for their flights. At a minimum, PROS client carriers have reported an increase of 4-8% in revenues due to the implementation of the PROS Revenue Management System.

PROS Group Revenue Management System, which allows an airline to evaluate a group request and to efficiently respond to the customer within minutes. Based on sophisticated economic analysis, PROS Group can determine the minimum acceptance price of accepting a group versus the displacement of other revenue opportunities, thereby generating the optimal revenue mix for the airline.

PROS NAS (Network Analysis System), the world's only network-oriented multi-class stratification system, evaluates the carrier's existing multi-class fare structure to determine the optimal flow of passengers across the network. With this new multi-class structure, the carrier can use PROS NAS to generate vital network-based inputs to their revenue management system -- an important first step toward O&D control.

All three products are based on the PROS Enterprise RM Platform, which uses world leading science, forecasting and optimization to generate revenue and profits for PROS' clients worldwide. The Platform is high performance, distributed computing, using parallelized, highly scalable technology. This architecture will support the high performance, high availability, real time, and mission critical applications of our clients. PROS' advanced architecture supports data intensive and calculation intensive, science-based enterprise solutions.
