When he turns 18 in October he will officially be classed as a man - and can take the crown from China's 20-year-old He Ping Ping, who is 2ft 5in. The tiny teenager says: "Once I am named as the world's smallest man then I can fulfil my dream of visiting the USA. I can show off my dancing moves and I can show people how good I am at karate." Khagendra has become something of a celebrity in his native Nepal - and his family are desperately proud of him. But his mother admits she he was ashamed of him when he was younger. Dhana Maya Thapa Magar, 33, says: "He was born weighing only 1lb 5oz. It was like watching a newly hatched chick fresh from a shell. "I admit that at first I was ashamed of him and would not leave the house, but now I only feel pride and am desperate for him to be named as the tiniest man in the world."
