BB: AAFG) announced today that it has expanded its production facility to meet the increasing demands for bagels and other bakery products as the company continues to grow.

"Our rapid growth had us bursting at the seams," says Glenn Addis, operations director for All American. "Within the past year we have outgrown our bagel production facilities. We now have a brand new, strategically-located facility in Newark, New Jersey, which not only manufactures but also distributes our product efficiently to our stores throughout the eastern states Eastern States can refer to several locations:
  • New England, United States
  • Eastern states of Australia
. This new facility also allows us to achieve a higher level of product quality."

The Goldberg's bagel recipe has been a carefully guarded family secret from Europe for over sixty years, and sharing this recipe with a separate production facility has been a difficult decision.

"One of the principal reasons we are as successful as we are," says Andrew Thorburn, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. However, to ensure the character and quality of our bagels, Larry Wiese, who originally worked with the Goldberg family, and has been with All American since we purchased Goldberg's, has become the general manager of our new production facility.

"Not only has our new facility maintained our standard of quality, it has also added to our bottom line."

The company estimates this change has had a $500,000 impact on the company's net results on an annualized annualized

Since its initial public offering in December 1996, AAFG has grown from 11 to 38 stores. Current expansion plans call for a total of well over 100 stores to be in operation in eleven states by year-end 1999.
