Alis Technologies Inc., a leading provider of integrated language-handling technologies and language-management solutions, has introduced a new connector that lets Lotus applications such as Notes, Domino, Sametime, and others work directly and seamlessly with Alis' Gist-In-Time(TM) language-comprehension solution for instantly understanding foreign-language documents.

The Alis connector works with the new Lotus Translation Component (LTC) to link Lotus applications to Alis' Gist-In-Time solution. The Alis LTC Connector Version 1.0 replaces Version 1.02 of the Domino Translation Object (DTO), which was originally the only way to connect language-comprehension software from Alis to Lotus applications.

Alis has been involved in helping Lotus develop the original DTO for some time, starting back in February, 1998.

Alis was the first company to conceive of the idea of connecting multilingual language-comprehension solutions to Lotus applications. The original DTO was based on a proprietary protocol developed by Alis Technologies Inc.
