Alion Hires Mark Rider to Lead Key Defense Technology Initiatives.

26-Year Army Veteran to help Advance Growth and Performance of Essential DoD Programs

MCLEAN, Va. -- Alion Science and Technology, an employee-owned technology solutions company, today announced it has hired Mark Rider to spearhead critical technology programs in support of the Department of Defense. Rider will lead efforts that include systems and component engineering, selected Pentagon support operations, engineering efforts at Redstone Arsenal and the Weapon System Technology Information Analysis Center (WSTIAC).

Under the WSTIAC program, Rider will be charged with enhancing this critically important enterprise as both a pragmatic, relevant technology information asset and as an effective contractual instrument for the Department of Defense's research, development, and acquisition personnel working vital weapons related issues.

Rider joins Alion after serving 26 years in the Army where he held numerous leadership positions within operational and acquisition organizations. His Army career includes extensive experience in acquisition, procurement, test and evaluation, and budgeting and resource management. He has served as an Army project manager for direct fire munitions (Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.), product manager for a tactical missile system (Redstone Arsenal, Al.), project director at the Army's Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command (Orlando, Fla.), operational evaluator for fire support systems (Alexandria, Va.), and Headquarters, Department of the Army systems coordinator for several weapons systems (Pentagon).
