Alion Awarded $6.4M Contract to Support Army Enterprise Transformation Efforts.

Technology Solutions Company to Present Army with a Focused View Across Enterprise Processes and Practices

MCLEAN, Va. -- The Army is on the path to enterprise transformation, to better develop and maintain forces for future conflicts. Alion Science and Technology, an employee-owned technology solutions provider, has been awarded a $6.4 million contract to assist the Army in forging that path through consistent processes that will improve every resource area.

Under the three-year contract, Alion will provide research, analysis, findings and recommendations to the U.S. Army Enterprise Task Force (ETF) Director, giving a comprehensive view across the full spectrum of Army infrastructure, processes and practices. The ETF executes the directives of the Army Secretary and Chief of Staff in developing this approach to Army decision-making and leads the adaptation of Army culture, organizations and processes.

In an organization as large and complex as the Army, incorporating consistent enterprise processes - such as change management, continuous process improvement, organizational analysis and design, and strategic communications - across such specialized mission areas as operations, logistics, research, development, and test and evaluation, can be a daunting task. The Alion team will support the ETF as it addresses this challenge.

The contract period of performance runs from May 2009 through February 2012. Alion is leading a team of contractors in this work, including BRTRC, ICF International and Ascendant SMG.
