Our MS Roundtable (p. 15) brings you face to face with six people who live with MS--some with relapsing relapsing /re·laps·ing/ (re-lap´sing) (re´lap-sing) recurrent; denoting an illness that is characterized by periods of remission alternating with attacks of symptomatic disease.  and others with progressive disease. They talk frankly about the impact that MS knowledge--and lack of knowledge--have on their everyday lives. It's striking how similar many of their comments are, despite obvious differences in age, ethnicity ethnicity Vox populi Racial status–ie, African American, Asian, Caucasian, Hispanic , and the length of time each has lived with MS. Here's a place where what's different doesn't seem to matter.

The MS Walk (p. 22) is similar. We'll be taking to the streets this spring as a big diverse family. We'll not only be raising money for Society programs and research, we'll be showing our communities what MS really looks like. Some people will walk freely, others will roll in style, still others will use canes, braces See curly brace. , walkers, or the friendly arm of a family member. Some will sit to give out snacks or information, or just be there to cheer. And people who don't have MS will join in to show support and love. We'll have a blast together.
