Alien ideas.

Good rover! In this cartoon, a NASA rover exploring Mars has made a discovery that's out of this world: It has found life on Mars--or at least the remains of it. The cartoon shows a rover looking at an alien skeleton. The skeleton is holding a sign that says "Global warming = Junk science." Junk science is a term used to discredit purportedly scientific data or claims that are driven by political, financial, or other questionable motives. Judging from this picture, what killed the cartoonist's fictional aliens? What is the climate like on Mars? What point do you think the cartoonist is trying to make to people on Earth? Do you think the cartoonist believes that recent reports of global warming are junk science? Explain your answers.
