, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 1996--Ben Hill Griffin III, president and chairman of the board of Alico Inc. (ALCO), announced Wednesday Wednesday: see week.  that the company closed on the sale of 21,700 acres of land, in Hendry Hendry may refer to:

The South Florida Water Management District's interest in this property, generally known as the Okaloacoochee Slough Slough (slou), city (1991 pop. 106,341) and borough, central England. After World War I, the residential city and its outlying area underwent rapid industrial development, owing in part to its proximity to London.  area, stems from its desire to preserve this property in the same natural and undeveloped condition, that Alico and its predecessor companies have done for more than 70 years.

Griffin stated that: "We are pleased to provide this unique parcel to the State for preservation. The sale is consistent with Alico's policy of selling land which is not an integral part of our agricultural operations."
