Symposium on religion held at Mill Pond WESTBORO - Sixth-graders at the Mill Pond School recently participated in the fourth annual Mill Pond World Religions Symposium. This year's symposium, on March 11, featured representatives from eight faiths, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Bahaism, Catholicism, the Quakers, and Unitarian Universalist. The students had an opportunity to talk with each representative, as well listen to a panel discussion facilitated by the Rev. Cindy Frado from Westboro Unitarian Church. The purpose of the symposium is to teach the sixth-grade students about religions from around the world as part of their study of world geography and culture. Throughout the day the students learned about the essential elements of each faith. In addition, they were encouraged to look for similarities shared by each religion.
