Algoma Steel Corporation (TSX: AGA) was founded in 1902 by Francis Clergue, an American entrepreneur who had settled in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. Turcotte was the recipient of the Engineering Metal in the Management Category for his contribution in leading and developing business strategies that have revived failing companies.

In 2002, Turcotte took on the task of bringing Algoma Steel back from creditor protection and transformed it to a profitable business with healthy shareholder value and improved stability for its employees.
