Algeria's customs revenues hit DZD 392 billion from January to October 2009, against DZD 358bn during the same period a year earlier, i.e. up by 9.54%, according to the Customs' National Centre of Data Processing and Statistics (CNIS). The increase was recorded despite the stability of Algeria's imports around US$ 32bn during the first ten months of 2009, the source told APS. Customs products, representing over 37% of the overall revenues, increased by DZD 15.417bn compared with same period of reference, from DZD 133.83bn up to DZD 149.24bn.
