Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 2000

Yield Dynamics, Inc. announced today that Alfred J. Stein has joined the company's Board of Directors.

Commenting on Mr. Stein's appointment, Dr. Jonathan Buckheit, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , said the company was fortunate to attract a board member at Mr. Stein's level of experience and accomplishment, and he expected his advice and expertise would be a valuable asset for Yield Dynamics in the months and years to come.

Stein added, "To be successful and achieve low costs in a semiconductor manufacturing environment, nothing is more important than maintaining high wafer process, die and product yields. As the device feature size approaches 0.1 micron, to achieve and then control high yields becomes more and more difficult. Hence, there is a growing critical need for fast powerful data analysis software capable of gathering process and device yield information from a myriad of different process steps. Yield Dynamics provides a very powerful solution to this need. I am delighted to work with Jon and his team as a member of their Board of Directors."

Stein served at VLSI Technology, Inc. as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1982 until its acquisition by Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE NYSE
