Alfa to Sell Montgomery Land in Sept. 27 J.P. King Auction.MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Alfa Properties Inc. will sell approximately 976 acres of land it has owned for decades between the Montgomery Regional Airport and the Hyundai Plant. Gadsden-based J.P. King Auction Company will manage the sale, which is set for 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 300 Tallapoosa Street, Montgomery. "We have no plans to develop the land, and we would rather see it in the hands of some companies that will use it to create new business enterprises and further the Montgomery area's economic growth," said Kevin Ketzler, vice president of Alfa's real estate operations. The land is zoned light manufacturing (M-1). Alfa will sell the land in parcels ranging from approximately 1.8 acres to approximately 146 acres, according to Craig King, president of J.P. King. Most of the land - approximately 929.8 acres - will sell at absolute auction, with no minimum bid or reserve. "You don't often see this much land - in this good a location - selling absolute, so buyers could have an opportunity to acquire the land they need at a good price. By offering the land in parcels, we hope to attract more prospective buyers, including some who couldn't necessarily afford to bid on several hundred acres," said King. "Bidders also will be able to bid on combinations of parcels to suit their unique needs. For example, someone might want to combine three or four parcels along U.S. 31 for visibility, while another buyer might combine some of the larger parcels for industrial use." The properties are located south of U.S. 80 and west of U.S. 31, according to Ketzler. Individuals interested in more information about the upcoming sale may contact J.P. King at (800) 558-5464 or visit the company's web site at www.jpking.com. J.P. King is the nation's leading auction marketing firm specializing in high-value properties such as superluxury homes, condominiums, ranches, land and developments.
