Alexis Cohen killed in car accident, man arrested.


Alexis Cohen, best known as a two-time "American Idol" contestant was killed on Saturday morning from a hit-and-run car accident.

Police said on Sunday that a 23-year-old New Jersey man was arrested for his reckless driving as well as leaving the scene of the accident in the death of Alexis Cohen.

Daniel Bark is from Toms River and was charged with causing Alexis Cohen's death.

Cohen was struck on a road in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Her body was found by two pedestrians ... it was found 350 yards from Cohen's parked car.

She sustained abdomen, chest and head injuries after she was hit early Saturday, authorities said.

Alexis Cohen, 24, was from Allentown, Pa. who appeared on "American Idol" in seasons 7 and 8 but failed to win a trip to Hollywood.
