Approval from the state came following a series of site visits and extensive reviews of materials and standards of care Standards of care are medical or psychological treatment guidelines, and can be general or specific. Associate Medical Director James Silva, M.D., echoed Dr. Oza's remarks by saying, "Our ability to handle significantly premature births gives us a real advantage over other local facilities." He added, "We are able to give our patients an extra sense of security ... during a most insecure time."

Renowned for its dedication to the health and welfare of children, Alexian Brothers Hospital is an innovative leader of community outreach programs like PROJECT HEALTHSTART, a free well-baby care and immunization program, and LIFESTART, a comprehensive prenatal care program.

Alexian Brothers Hospital was founded in 1965 by the Alexian Brothers congregation of the Catholic Church. The 204 bed facility has a staff of 699 full-time employees and 340 professional medical staff specializing in 21 fields of medicine, dentistry and podiatry.
