Alexian Brothers Hospital names new VP of Professional and Support Services.


SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 1995--Alexian Brothers Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary P. Goeringer as vice president of Professional and Support Services.

Goeringer, who has over 15 years of hospital administration experience, will oversee operations of several of the hospital's key medical departments and services, including Cardiopulmonary, Laboratory, Rehabilitation, Environmental and Nutrition Services, the Bonaventure Surgery Center, and the Pharmacy and Radiology departments.

Goeringer comes to Alexian brothers Hospital from Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center where he served in several positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as director of Patient Care Services. He also served as director of Business and Professional Services and as director of Patient Financial Services and Admissions.

Over his five years with Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center, Goeringer was responsible for more than 27 clinical and ancillary departments, encompassing seven direct-report clinical directors and over 375 employees.

Included in his responsibilities were regulatory and accreditation compliance, financial, operational and productivity monitoring systems, capital and personnel budgets, and contract negotiations for all related departmental programs.

Prior to his work at Santa Monica, Goeringer was assistant director of Patient Business Services at Alta Bates Bates   , Katherine Lee 1859-1929.

Among Goeringer's affiliations and activities are the American College of Health Care Executives, Health Care Financial Management Association, Patient Care Assessment Council, and the Health Care Forum.
