Alexandria United Way Kicks Off Campaign at Robbins-Gioia.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The United Way in Alexandria will officially launch its campaign on Tuesday, October 12, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at Robbins-Gioia, a program management firm headquartered in the city at 11 Canal Center Plaza. At the same time, the company will kick off its employee campaign. Joining Robbins-Gioia employees at the kick-off will be Congressman Jim Moran (D-Va.), Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille, and local United Way volunteers.

"We want to draw attention to the strong corporate support the United Way enjoys in Alexandria," said Kerry Donley, former mayor and chair of this year's fundraising campaign in Alexandria. "The employees at Robbins-Gioia understand the important role United Way plays in making sure local nonprofits have the resources to help the people who come to them for assistance."
