AlexLit.com Buys Mind's Eye Fiction; Buy Out Marks First Consolidation in Digital Literature Publishing.

Customers can also purchase AlexLit.com stories for e-book readers. The company has contracts to provide content for Rocket eBook One of the first electronic books. Introduced in 1998 by NuvoMedia Inc., Palo Alto, CA, it weighed in at 22 ounces and held the equivalent of approximately 10 novels. Howell said there are no immediate plans to change Mind's Eye Fiction's site, www.tale.com. "They use a different business model, and have been very successful in building site recognition and site visitors," he said. "We want to expand on their success, and integrate it with our own. Our goal is to gain significant market share in the $80 billion + worldwide book publishing book publishing. The term publishing means, in the broadest sense, making something publicly known. Usually it refers to the issuing of printed materials, such as books, magazines, periodicals, and the like.  market."
