Alert over acid find.


A VAT of deadly acid was yesterday found dumped in a street.

Residents were told to stay indoors as firefighters in airtight chemical suits sealed it.

They later discovered the substance was hyrdrochloric acid, which is used as an industrial cleaner.

But it has also been used by criminal gangs in the production of cocaine, heroin and amphetamines.
