Alert Logic Transforms Internal Networks into Distributed Defense Systems; Network Threat Management Product Uses Human Logic Algorithms to Enable Networks to Defend Themselves.

HOUSTON -- Alert Logic, Inc., the company that protects data networks from within, today announced Invision Security(TM), a hosted security product that automatically identifies internal security threats and transforms networks into a distributed defense grid that can resist damage caused by intrusions, worm infections, and vulnerabilities. The company also announced today the formation of the Alert Logic Research Team (ALRT ALRT Alert

Developed by Martin Roesch, Snort can also be used just as a packet logger or packet sniffer. For more information, visit www.snort.org. See IDS.  release manager at Sourcefire. "The ability of Invision Security to accurately and reliably detect worm infections and targeted attacks on our network has surpassed all our expectations," said David Langston, CIO CIO: see American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations.

Threat Scenario Modeling Automates Human Decisions

To automate the complex decisions typically made by security analysts, Invision Security continuously assesses network vulnerabilities and monitors internal network activity using a patent-pending threat scenario modeling and ranking system. The system is based on algorithms that simulate human logic and model interdependencies between profiles of malicious network traffic, attacker behavior patterns, security vulnerabilities, and network topology See topology.  changes. Invision Security's threat scenario modeling engine is regularly updated with security intelligence gathered by ALRT. When a security threat exceeds a predefined ranking threshold, Invision Security can block the attack or alert an administrator.

Distributed Attack Defense and Containment

To protect internal networks from threats that bypass perimeter security systems, including e-mail worms, vulnerable mobile clients, and extranet users, Invision Security transforms an organization's existing infrastructure into a distributed defense mechanism. This capability enables Invision Security to control routers, firewalls and switches to automatically shut down attacks with or without human intervention once their severity ranking violates the pre-set security policy.

On-Demand Delivery Model

To eliminate up-front costs associated with software and hardware deployment, Invision Security is delivered as a monthly subscription service. "As the ability of perimeter security to protect internal networks continues to erode, enterprises are being overwhelmed by the huge volume of false positives and security events being generated by IDS and IPS products," said Misha Govshteyn, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "Invision Security automates more than 90 percent of the decisions typically made by security administrators, so organizations can be presented with and focus their IT resources on the most complex and high risk attacks on their networks."

ActiveWatch: 24X7 Security Monitoring

For enterprises that lack in-house security resources, the Alert Logic ActiveWatch(R) service closes the feedback loop in the Network Threat Management process. ActiveWatch provides 24x7x365 security intelligence monitoring to identify and thwart complex attacks that require human intervention. ActiveWatch is available in three flexible service options: real-time monitoring, 4 hour reviews, and 12 hour reviews. The service is staffed by SANS Institute The SANS Institute (SysAdmin, Audit, Networking, and Security) is a trade name owned by the for-profit Escal Institute of Advanced Technologies.
