Alereon Taps Deutsch to Lead Worldwide Sales Efforts.

Mobile Industry Sales Veteran from SanDisk's OEM Consumer Products Division Joins Leading UWB Company

AUSTIN, Texas -- Alereon, Inc., the Certified Wireless USB technology leader for Ultra Wideband (UWB) WiMedia solutions, today announced the hiring of Scott Deutsch as vice president of worldwide sales. In this role, Deustch is responsible for developing and managing Alereon's sales relationships with strategic customers worldwide.

Prior to joining Alereon, Deutsch was vice president of sales and marketing for the SanDisk OEM Consumer Products Division, where he led SanDisk's growth with tier one OEM's in the PND, Digital Imaging and emerging PC OEM Solid State Drive markets. He also served as the director of sales for the Western United States with MMC Networks, a successful start-up company that pioneered the network processor concept and was eventually acquired by AMCC. While at MMC Networks he achieved major design wins with Cisco, Lucent and Nortel and was also responsible for creating and managing channel sales for the company.

Before joining MMC Network, Deutsch spent eight years at Cypress Semiconductor in various sales and management roles. While at Cypress, he helped create new markets for mobile products and significantly grew sales and market shares at large companies such as Apple, Cisco, Maxtor and Motorola.
