Alereon CEO to Discuss the Future of Ultrawideband at VentureWire Semiconductor Venture Fair IV.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Alereon, a leading fabless semiconductor company A fabless semiconductor company specializes in the design and sale of hardware devices implemented on semiconductor chips. It achieves an advantage by outsourcing the fabrication of the devices to a specialized semiconductor manufacturer called a semiconductor foundry or "fab.  developing wireless solutions for the Ultrawideband (UWB (Ultra-WideBand) A wireless technology that uses less power and provides higher speed than 802.11 Wi-Fi networks or first-generation Bluetooth products. UWB is expected to provide wireless video transmission for home theater systems, cable TV, auto safety and ) and Wireless USB (W-USB) markets, announced today that CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Eric Broockman will be speaking at Semiconductor Venture Fair IV being held February 23 and 24 in San Francisco, Calif. Broockman, who speaks at 9:45 a.m. on February 23, and 9:10 a.m. on February 24, will present a company overview including Alereon's industry-leading technology and an overview of the current state of the UWB market.

UWB is a high-speed, low-power wireless technology that aims to make life easier by eliminating the tangle of wires that connects personal computers, audio and video equipment, consumer electronics and mobile devices. Working in conjunction with leading end-equipment manufacturers in these industries, Alereon's products will provide complete solutions for MultiBand OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) A digital transmission technique that uses a large number of carriers spaced apart at slightly different frequencies.  UWB-based applications, including a new wireless version of the Universal Serial Bus See USB.
