Aldabbagh Ranch to Sell in June 7 Auction.

MURRIETA, Calif. -- From the time Sam Aldabbagh began breeding and training horses at Aldabbagh Ranch in the mid-1990s, his unheralded Thoroughbreds quickly gained a reputation for winning races against long odds at such tracks as Belmont, Santa Anita and Hollywood Park.

But now, Aldabbagh is preparing to sell Aldabbagh Ranch at auction. Bidders will gather at the ranch at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7, to bid on the 83+- acre ranch, with J.P. King Auction Company managing the sale.

"I always felt that the location was a key to our success, because we were close enough to four major tracks to train the horses in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, so they didn't have to spend so much time at the tracks hearing all the noises and screaming," said Aldabbagh.

Among his notable successes was Coccooning, an $8,000 horse that won at least 14 times, becoming a fan favorite because of his penchant for paying off as a long shot. Other overachievers included Random Brown, Countess Ann, Can Can Me, Can Can Alexis, Can Can Royalty, Can Can Jade and Flying in Kentucky.

The ranch includes a 5/8-mile track, an indoor breeding facility, three large arenas, a main stable with 40 stalls and veterinary facilities, tack rooms, grooming stalls and washing stalls, according to Craig King, president of J.P. King.
